    I agree with everything you say, Susan, and your journey sounds very similar to mine, though you are a long way further down the road.
    When you mentioned the lack of good advice online I wondered if you had discovered ALLi, the Alliance of Independent Authors. For a reasonable sum, you can be a member and the advice is brilliant. There’s a forum to ask and answer questons as well as the podcasts, books and blogs and every time I was stuck I got fantastic advice there. It might be something that Sarah could pass on to her students too, if she’s not already done so.

      Hi Kathy! I actually rejoined Alli again recently, I think when I was initially a member the information I needed was quite hard to find (for me) even if it was there! I recall not enjoying their website too much because I found it difficult to navigate. It seems to be more user friendly now.
