Double Double Toil and Trouble

The Ghosts of Autumns’ Past

I’ve decided to be a bit more playful as I try to create a Substack rhythm. I’ve tried shoehorning old blog favorites in, but they don’t always translate

So I’m going to try some different formats and see what connects.

It’s Wednesday night and everyone else is asleep. We have a big weekend ahead so I’m writing this Substack early before all of the excitement.

This is Davy’s first real Halloween. Sure, we went to the pumpkin patch when he was a baby, but then COVID hit and we were super cautious. Last year we just dressed up as Star Wars characters in our backyard. (I was going to link to those, but I can’t find my phone anywhere, which doesn’t bode well for the battery charge in the morning.)

This year he’s been involved in choosing a costume and loves saying “Halloweeeen” and “pumpkin-en” whenever we see decorations. He also has a pet pumpkin he joyfully carries around the house.

So here’s some stuff I made over the years that you might enjoy this autumn.

  • For a real time hop check out my energy levels in this pre-baby October favorites video. 😂

I remember being really sick on that trip, but look how I bounced back when I could have a full night’s sleep!

Ok, that was fun, right? Maybe we’ll make this timey wimey jaunt a recurring feature.

(No, we have not seen the new WHO yet… 😭 I would be watching it now, but Nathan fell asleep on me. Parent life is exhausting and one of us always seems to drop off when we get still.)

Well, I’d better get some sleep too. Tomorrow we go to the pumpkin patch and I hope to manage some photos in Davy’s Daniel Tiger costume.

Sweet dreams to you all,

Sarah
